When the clouds hinder the sun, the slight nuance of colour from the earth, sky, and water comes together more harmoniously. It can be quite sobering when all of those elements are of equal value in the composition. Your eyes don’t necessarily land on a focal point, they just keep taking everything in, all at once.
Even though this captured moment looks like it’s in transition, it evokes a sense of grounding because there is a coming together - in colour, form, and line. It’s balanced uniformly.
When I look at this piece, I am sitting in the grass, watching the clouds move quickly across the sky. I could get caught up in the blustering wind and its ability to disturb the water and land or I can stop and experience how everything around me is responding to each other in unity.
Welcoming the moment, grateful, and sensible with my thoughts. There is no room for ambition here.
