BE STILL

A reflective piece that speaks of steadfastness. There is such thing as actively being still. No talking …just listening. Waiting. We don’t need beautiful scenery to make us speechless, but it helps! A piece of art can evoke different responses even from the same person over a lifetime. Many art collectors will say that what keeps them buying art is that they keep seeing more within the piece. The relationship with the piece deepens. I throw that question back to myself…do I prize my relationship with God more today than say, five years ago? When I have these sort of personal talks with God, my mind is flooded with all that He has done for me. Never the other way around. As a believer in Jesus, I create art as an act of worship. My skills will change, my abilities, my interests, but my focus is Him. That is no easy task…so I must make time to hear His voice. I chose to believe He is for me. Sometimes that is all I need to get through the day. May this be an encouragement.
