As I create this figure running away from me, I enjoy forming the lines that emphasized the tremendous work being performed within the body.  Many times during this piece I thought of John Bunyan's book, "Pilgrims Progress" where Christian's  spiritual journey is filled with trials that deepened and authenticated his understanding of the greatness of Jesus Christ. This figure represents the church. The initial start  is a rallying of the body parts to work together, in hopes that it will produce this glorious unity - euphoria (experienced runners know what I am talking about).  This euphoria comes in the way that once every part is doing its part, really well, the mind is freed from the confines of coaching the body to the manifestation of its divine purpose.  Christ is all and in all. The sprinkling of gold and red symbolizes that God does this refining in us when we take hold of the life we have in Christ Jesus, His death and resurrection. Believe it. May an immense hope, joy and anticipation be upon your hearts for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Never stop encouraging each other in Christ for every man's works will be tested.  Keep running!!
